Bakit Ganun?

I found this flyer at St. Luke's Chapel last Dec. 5th.   "BAKIT GANUN!!!!   PAGPATAY: Bakit masama ang tingin ng marami kay GMA eh wala naman siyang pinapatay? Pero yung ibang kinikilalang "hero" ay may mabibigat na kaso, tulad ng Dacer Corbito case (Erap at Ping Lacson), Edgar Bentain case (Erap at Atong Ang), Mendiola massacre (Gen. Alfredo Lim), Luneta massacre (Mayor Alfredo Lim), at Hacienda Luisita massacre (Noynoy at Cory Aquino).

Lol.

David sizzles as Powerade ousts BMEG in QF shocker.   Despite what he deemed as an affront to his team Gary David seemed intent on just coasting along Sunday evening. Then came an incident that banished a teammate and fired him up for good. The result was David exploding for 37 points, lifting Powerade past B-MEG for the second straight game 131-123 in overtime to crash the semifinals of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. David scattered 23 of his points in the fourth period and overtime to lead the Tigers' charge from being No. 8 at the end of eliminations and past the top-seeded Lllamados to arrange a best-of-seven semis duel with either Barangay Ginebra or Rain or Shine. It marked only the third time in the league's 37-year-old history that such an upset occured in the quarterfinals and coach Bo Perasol said it was about keeping the faith despite his team being down by as much as 17 points early and by 12 in the fourth period. The Philippine Blame Game.

Ten reasons why Filipinos blame Gloria Arroyo for everything 1. Most Filipinos think that blaming the late former President, Ferdinand Marcos is so passé so they have moved on to GMA. A quarter of a century after Edsa, the Aquinos and their supporters cannot keep blaming the original “bad guy” because blaming Marcos after all these years will highlight the fact that there was nothing significant about the so-called “people power” revolution that happened in 1986 to begin with. It becomes funnier when you hear them say, “GMA is worse than Marcos” because they don’t realise that this is the same as saying, “We were better off during the Marcos years”. 2. Most Filipinos need to blame someone for the lack of progress in their own personal lives. They might still be stuck doing the same dead-end job or in the case of some, still stuck waiting for government handouts. 3. Most Filipinos are actually angry with themselves, not with GMA. Underneath that arroga...

The Withdrawal of US Troops in Iraq.

The withdrawal of U.S. troops in Iraq. The withdrawal of American military forces from Iraq has been a contentious issue within the United States since the beginning of the Iraq War. As the war has progressed from its initial 2003 invasion phase to a multi-year occupation, U.S. public opinion has turned in favor of troop withdrawal. As of May 2007, 55 percent of Americans believed that the Iraq war was a mistake, and 51 percent of registered voters favored troop withdrawal. In late April 2007, the U.S. Congress passed a supplementary spending bill for Iraq that sets a deadline for troop withdrawal, but President Bush vetoed this bill soon afterwards. All US Forces are mandated to withdraw from Iraqi territory by 31 December 2011 under the terms of a bilateral agreement signed in 2008. Immediately before and after the 2003 invasion, most polls within the United States showed a substantial majority supporting war; though since December 2004 polls have consistently shown that a majo...
