Qatar clinch Bronze at the Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo.
The GCC champions repeated of their bronze medal success from two years ago, having beaten Philippines at the similar stage at the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup. Tonight they needed 79:63 to finish on the third place.
Qatar started the game with 12-8 lead and added 23-18 in the second period.
 Gabe Norwood (196-G/F-85, college: George Mason) reduced to 55:47 at the end of the third period as Philippines won the quarter 22-20.
Qatar however needed a 24-15 surge in the last stanza to win bronze at Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo.
Mohammed Yousef (204-C-82) top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Clinton Fihnoir Johnson (193-G-84) had 16.
Khalid Suliman (198-G/F-87) posted 14, while Erfan Ali (198-PF-83) had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
 Marcus Douthit (210-C/F-80, agency: Edge Sports, college: Providence) replied with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Gary David (188-G/F-78) notched 15.
 Jared Dillinger (191-G/F-84, college: Hawaii) scored 12 and Gabe Norwood added 10.

PS:What ever happens, I'm still proud of this team. They are only assembled in just few weeks but they were able to reach the semis. This is not the end of our dream to become champions of Asian Basketball. The real battle will next year. PILIPINAS...AHOO3x!
