SEA Games 2011 Indonesia:Sinag Pilipinas NT rips Thailand NT, 103-69.

MANILA, Philippines – Sinag Pilipinas booked a trip to the semis as it overpowered Thailand, 103-69, at the end of the group stage in the 26th Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball today in the BritAma Arena in Indonesia.
The win put the Filipinos on top of  Group A with 3-0 mark and will meet the second place in Group B possibly, host Indonesia, in the crossover semis.
Posing the toughest challenge in their group yet, Thailand zoomed to a fast start scoring the game’s first five points.  But Sinag Pilipinas rallied behind the core of the four-time UAAP champion Ateneo Blue Eagles to overtake Thailand in the first canto and the rest of the team took it from there.
Emman Monfort’s triple touched off a 22-7 exchange as the Filipinos opened up their first double digit lead at 10, 22-12, halfway through the opening period.
Sinag Pilipinas led by as many as 39 as it again drew well-balanced contributions from the best amateur standouts in the country.
Six players scored in double figures led by Fil-American Clifford Hodge’s 15 points. UAAP Rookie of the Year Kiefer Ravena backed him up with 14 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals in another sterling all-around performance.
Outrebounded by Thailand, 28-32, the Filipinos bucked that by shooting well from the field as they made 42 of their 65 attempts (65%) while issuing 23 assists. 
Thailand was led by Darongpan Apiromvilaichai’s 12 points. Chanachon Klahan was the only other Thai player in double figures with 11 points.
